Autonomous vessels meet autonomous ports

Grieg Connect participates in AEGIS, a project aiming to develop new and more competitive systems for waterborne transport. Funded by the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, The three-year AEGIS project will show that autonomous ships and automation in ports can make waterborne transport much more flexible and user-friendly while further reducing the environmental impact of EU transport. Grieg Connect will alongside Cargotec's Kalmar and MacGregor be the technology providers for the project.

Port of Oslo deploys artificial intelligence in bold move to calculate precise ship arrival times

Uncertainty as to when a ship will turn up at the quay has been a never-ending irritant for ports and harbours the world over. But the problem will soon be history thanks to artificial intelligence. As a first mover, Oslo Port Authority in Norway is this spring set to implement an innovative machine learning algorithm that reliably calculates the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of vessels sailing from near and far, in a move that promises significant savings for stakeholders involved in port calls as well as other efficiencies beyond the port gates.  

Tar ledende posisjon på landstrøm

Seamless jobber sammen med Bergen og Omland Havnevesen (BOH) om utvikling og effektiv implementering av landstrøm  som et viktig ledd i digitalisering av havnene. Innføring av landstrøm til de store skipene har også en åpenbar miljøgevinst som bidrar til energieffektivisering av sjøtransporten og reduserte utslipp ved kai.
